Safety in Scouting

How we keep your child safe

This page is the starting point for parents and caregivers who want to understand safety in Moreton Region Scouts. Your trust matters to us, and we’d rather you ask questions than wonder. Safety isn’t a document here — it’s how every activity is planned, run and reviewed.

The foundations

  • Zero tolerance for harm. Scouts Queensland has zero tolerance for abuse or harm of young people. Full stop.
  • Checked and trained adults. Every adult working with youth members holds a Blue Card (Queensland’s working-with-children check) and completes child-safe training.
  • A Code of Conduct for everyone. Adults agree to clear behavioural standards, and youth members learn age-appropriate expectations too.
  • Planned activities. Adventurous activities run under national activity standards with trained supervisors.
