Queensland-scale Scouting

This page introduces branch and state events run by Scouts Queensland. When young people travel beyond the region, they see just how big Scouting is in this state — thousands of members, one shared program.

What Queensland offers

• State camps and gatherings bringing together members from every corner of Queensland.
• Agoonoree — Queensland’s remarkable long-running camp welcoming young people with special needs into full Scouting experiences.
• State activity competitions and skill weekends across all sections.
• Leadership development courses preparing youth members to lead their peers.

What travelling teaches

A weekend away with strangers who quickly become friends is powerful. Members return from state events more confident, more independent, and full of ideas for their own unit. Leaders benefit too — every event is an informal masterclass in program delivery.

Getting involved

• Watch for expressions of interest through your Group — places are often limited.
• Costs and travel vary by event; Groups usually fundraise to help families.
• Adults are always needed on staff. State events are a great way to build experience and networks.

Ask your Leader what’s coming up at state level — then put your hand up early.
