What Scouts Do

Scouting helps young people grow through active, practical experiences. Instead of sitting back and being told what to do all the time, young people are encouraged to take part, make decisions, try new things, and learn from the experience.

A typical Scout meeting might include games, teamwork, planning, cooking, craft, problem-solving, outdoor skills, or preparation for an event or camp. Across the year, young people may also take part in hikes, camps, ceremonies, adventurous activities, community service, and regional events.

Scouting is designed to support personal growth as well as fun. Young people build confidence, resilience, independence, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility while being part of a team.
