Our badges tell the story of what your child is doing in Scouting and how they are growing. They show progress across the program, not just one-off achievements.
That means a badge might recognise regular participation, a new outdoor skill, a personal project or a major section award. They all play a different role in the bigger picture.
More than decoration
Badges are not just there to fill space on a uniform. Each one marks effort, progress and learning that matters to the young person who earned it.
Some badges show that a young person has stayed active in the program. Others show they have built a skill, completed a project or reached a major milestone in their section.
The four main badge areas
- Milestones and Program Essentials.
- Outdoor Adventure Skills.
- Special Interest Areas.
- Peak Awards.
How badges help young people
Badges give young people visible recognition for what they have done. That matters because progress feels more real when it is noticed, celebrated and remembered.
They also help young people set goals. A badge can be the start of a bigger journey, not just the end of one activity.
