Support without the uniform
Not everyone can commit to a regular role – and that is fine. Friends of Scouting is for people who want Moreton Region Scouts to thrive without taking on meetings, training or responsibilities.
What Friends do
- Lend a hand occasionally – a working bee at the hall, a sausage sizzle, helping at a Region event.
- Share skills – one-off talks, trades expertise, gear repairs, photography.
- Donate or fundraise – financial contributions and fundraising help keep Scouting affordable for local families.
- Spread the word – recommending Scouting to neighbours, workplaces and community groups.
No checks needed for most help
If your help involves direct contact with young people, a Queensland Blue Card applies – but plenty of Friends contribute without ever needing one. We will always tell you upfront what a task involves.
We know your time is precious. Even one Saturday a year makes a real difference to a small Group.
Try this: think of one thing you could offer in under two hours. Chances are a Group near you needs exactly that.
