The digital home of each member’s journey
Terrain (terrain.scouts.com.au) is where youth members record their achievements and progress along their personal pathways. As a volunteer, you will use it to review, confirm and celebrate that progress. This page gives you the practical rundown.
What adults actually do in Terrain
- Review and sign off milestones, Outdoor Adventure Skills stages and Special Interest Area projects as youth members complete them.
- Track where each young person is up to, so badge presentations happen on time.
- Support older sections – Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts manage much of their own records, with Leaders confirming rather than entering data.
- Keep member details current alongside Scout Central.
Making it easy on yourself
- Youth members record most things themselves – your job is review and encouragement, not data entry.
- Set aside ten minutes after each unit council or milestone presentation rather than saving it all up.
- The Scouts | Terrain app lets members capture evidence on the spot at camps and activities.
Guidance for leaders sits at pr.scouts.com.au, and your District team runs refresher sessions now and then.
Try this: log into Terrain today and check whether any of your Section’s recent award nights are still waiting on confirmation.
