The framework that protects young people
This page gives you the big picture of child-safe Scouting in Moreton Region and Scouts Queensland. Understanding the “why” behind each rule makes them far easier to live by.
Our commitments
- Zero tolerance for harm. Scouts Queensland has zero tolerance for abuse, neglect or harm of children and young people.
- Prevention first. Screening, training and supervision are designed to stop problems before they start.
- Youth voice matters. Young people are encouraged to speak up, and we teach them that raising concerns is safe and right.
- Continuous improvement. We learn from incidents, reviews and the wider community — including acknowledging the work of the National Redress Scheme in addressing past institutional harm.
How it works day to day
- Every adult in a child-related role holds a current Blue Card.
- All adults follow the Code of Conduct, covering how we behave around young people.
- Activities are planned, risk-assessed and supervised to national standards.
- Concerns are reported promptly through official channels — never handled informally.
