Tell us you are keen
By the end of this page you will know exactly what happens after you raise your hand. Expressing interest costs nothing and commits you to nothing – it simply starts a conversation.
How it works
- Send us your details. Use our volunteer enquiry form, or chat with a Leader at your local Group. Tell us roughly where you live and how much time you might have.
- We get in touch. A local volunteer will call or email within a few days. No pressure, no scripts – just a friendly conversation about what suits you.
- Meet the team. Visit a Section night, see Scouting in action, and ask plenty of questions.
- If it feels right, we proceed. That means a Blue Card application (Queensland’s working with children check), some simple paperwork, and induction into your role.
What we will ask of you
Only three things: complete a Blue Card before working with young people, agree to the Scouts Queensland Code of Conduct, and bring your best self. We handle the rest together.
Try this: jot down two things you would love to help with and one thing you would rather avoid. It makes that first conversation easier.
