About Us
Moreton Region Scouts is part of a worldwide movement with a strong local purpose. We help young people grow through adventure, friendship, service, and practical learning. Across our region, Scouting creates opportunities for young people to build confidence, try new things, and take increasing responsibility for themselves and others.
Scouting has stayed relevant because the core idea still works. Young people thrive when they are trusted, supported, challenged, and given real opportunities to lead. That is the approach we aim to bring to life at https://mrscouts.au.
What we do
Scouting is active, hands-on, and shaped by experience. Young people learn in age-based sections through outdoor adventure, teamwork, community involvement, personal challenge, and reflection.
- We help young people learn by doing, not just by listening.
- We create opportunities for leadership from an early age.
- We support adult volunteers to guide and mentor with confidence.
- We build community through shared experiences, local groups, and regional activities.
Why Scouting matters
Life can feel crowded, fast, and screen-heavy. Scouting offers something different: real experiences, real responsibility, and real connection. Young people can step outside their normal routine, work with others, solve problems, and discover what they are capable of.
As they grow, they take increasing responsibility for themselves and for the people around them. Adults support that journey by creating safe, practical, encouraging environments where learning can happen step by step.
Our approach
At Moreton Region Scouts, we put young people first. We believe growth happens when young people are involved in decisions, encouraged to reflect, and trusted to keep building their skills over time.
We also know volunteers are busy. That is why we aim to make Scouting practical, clear, and well supported. Whether you are new to the movement or bringing years of experience, we want you to feel confident in the role you play.
Part of something bigger
Moreton Region Scouts is part of Scouts Queensland, Scouts Australia, and the wider global Scout Movement. That wider network gives us strong values, shared methods, and a long tradition of helping young people become active, capable citizens.
Locally, that big-picture purpose becomes simple and practical. It looks like a Joey Scout trying something new, a Cub Scout helping a friend, a Scout leading a patrol task, a Venturer taking on service, or an adult volunteer helping young people grow through everyday experiences.
