Help for your recruitment pushes
This page explains the support available from Moreton Region Scouts when your Group is actively recruiting. You’re not doing this alone — the region wants your Group full and thriving.
What the region can offer
- Regional promotion. Your recruitment events can be promoted through region channels alongside other Groups’ activities.
- Shared experience. District teams can connect you with leaders whose Groups have run successful open nights — steal their ideas shamelessly.
- Enquiry pathways. Join enquiries made through this website flow to local Groups, so make sure your details stay current.
- Volunteer pipeline. Adults expressing interest through region channels need Groups ready to welcome them.
Running a strong open night
- Pick a high-energy date — not the week before camp when everyone’s exhausted.
- Put youth members front and centre; they’re the reason families come back.
- Have a sign-up path ready, including trial visits for hesitant families.
- Follow up within 48 hours while enthusiasm is warm.
Try this
Before your next push, contact your District Commissioner and ask what support exists right now. The answer is usually more than you expect.
