Beyond Moreton

Local Scouting is connected to a much wider world. While Moreton Region Scouts is grounded in local groups and local communities, we are also part of Scouts Queensland, Scouts Australia, and the global Scout Movement. That wider connection brings perspective, opportunity, and a strong shared sense of purpose.

For young people, this means the program is bigger than one hall or one district. For adults, it means support, learning, and connection extend well beyond the local level.

Moreton Region Scouts sits within Scouts Queensland. That state connection helps provide structure, support, standards, training, major events, and broader opportunities for young people and adults across the region.

It also reminds us that local Scouting does not happen in isolation. We are part of a wider network of Groups, leaders, camps, and opportunities across Queensland.

Part of Scouts Australia

Scouts Queensland is part of Scouts Australia. That national connection supports the Australian Youth Program, shared training frameworks, national resources, and opportunities to connect across the country.

For members, this helps create consistency while still allowing regions and Groups to respond to local needs and local communities.

Part of World Scouting

Scouting is one of the world’s largest youth movements. Through Scouts Australia, we are part of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, connected by shared values, common purpose, and a commitment to helping young people grow through active participation, service, and learning by doing.

This global connection opens the door to international friendship, wider service opportunities, and a stronger sense that local Scouting is part of something meaningful on a much larger scale.

Why this matters locally

Local belonging is important, but wider connection matters too. When young people understand they are part of something bigger, it can deepen their sense of purpose, citizenship, and responsibility.

For adult volunteers, it also brings perspective. The work done locally in Moreton Region contributes to a much broader effort to help young people become active, capable, and community-minded.
